Reward ideas and best practices

How many stamps are ideal, and what reward will bring the guest back.

A good reward is valuable enough that customers come back for it, but not so costly that the program stops making sense. This article helps you find that balance.

The stamp count and the reward work together: customers should feel the reward is realistically within reach on the first visit.

The ideas below are starting points by business type. Adjust them to your margins.

Why use this?

If the stamp count is too high, customers never start (for example 20 coffees for one free drink).

If the count is too low, you give rewards too often and margins suffer.

Proven patterns get you live faster than experimenting from zero. You can refine later with data.

Step by step

  1. Calculate what the reward costs you and spread it across the required visits.
  2. Set the stamp count so the reward is reachable in about 4-10 visits.
  3. Write the reward concretely (for example “Free cappuccino”), not vaguely (“Surprise gift”).
  4. Start with one simple reward and watch redemption rate in Insights.
  5. After a few weeks, adjust: raise the count if too many redeem, lower it if too few.

  • Restaurant: dessert or starter on the house after 6 visits.
  • Salon: discount or free add-on treatment every 5th visit.
  • Gym or studio: free session or guest pass after 10 visits.
