Four-digit backup code

When the QR code cannot be scanned.

If the screen cannot be scanned (cracked glass, bright sun), the customer can read a four-digit fallback code from the pass for manual entry in the scanner app.

This backup keeps stamping from stopping for technical reasons.

The code appears on the Wallet pass when the customer opens it.

Why use this?

Cracked screens or low brightness are common. The fallback code still lets you stamp.

Customers do not miss a stamp when QR fails.

Manual entry is logged like a scan.

Step by step

  1. Ask the customer to open the Wallet pass.
  2. They tap the pass to reveal the four-digit code (depending on program settings).
  3. In the scanner app choose Enter code manually.
  4. Enter the four digits.
  5. Stamp or redeem as usual.
