Expiration and limits

Expiration date and stamp limits.

Expiry dates and limits help you keep the loyalty program under control. You can set how long a card stays valid and how often one customer can earn a stamp.

These rules live on the Details tab. Your team should know them too.

Very strict limits can slow enrollment. Start lighter and tighten based on experience.

Why use this?

Expiry encourages return visits: customers know they should redeem in time.

Stamp limits (daily, weekly, monthly) reduce abuse and excessive discounting.

Clear rules mean fewer arguments at the counter.

Step by step

  1. Open expiry settings on the Details tab.
  2. Choose no expiry, a fixed date, or expiry after a period.
  3. Set daily, weekly, or monthly maximum stamps per customer if needed.
  4. Make sure staff understand the rules. Summarize them for the counter if helpful.
  5. Save with Save.

What happens when a card expires

  • With a period expiry the clock starts when the customer installs the card. A fixed date applies to every customer on the same day.
  • An expired card cannot take stamps or redeem a reward, at the counter or in the dashboard.
  • The card shows as expired on the customer's phone. Wallet moves it to the expired cards, but never deletes it on its own.
  • The customer sees the expiry in their card portal and cannot install the card again.
  • The dashboard marks the customer as Expired and hides the stamp and redeem buttons.
