Fields locked after publication

What you can change on a card that has already been published.

On a published card, some fields are no longer editable so customer Wallet passes stay consistent.

Other fields (colors, logo, copy, links, reminder messages) remain editable.

For structural changes (for example fewer stamps), start a new card.

Why use this?

Locks protect the customer experience: QR codes and card structure stay stable.

Knowing what you can edit saves time on locked fields.

For big structural changes, a new card is cleaner than reverting to draft.

Step by step

  1. Open the published card editor.
  2. Try changing stamp count. If locked, the field is disabled or shows a warning.
  3. Edit allowed fields (text, colors), then save.
  4. Customer Wallet passes update automatically for editable fields.
  5. For structural changes, create a new card and archive the old one.

What publish locks

  • Locked: barcode type, number of stamps, auto-update settings (depending on program).
  • Editable: colors, logo, text, links, reminder messages, push messages.
  • Revert to draft or archive is a separate action. Use carefully on a live program.
